About Scope & Stars

Scope & Stars is a set of plain-English guides to choosing and using a telescope. They cover refractors, reflectors and Dobsonians, smart telescopes, eyepieces, mounts and filters, first steps in astrophotography, and what you can see in the night sky.

Who writes the guides

The guides are written by the Scope & Stars team.

How the guides are made

• Every fact, figure and price is checked against a reliable source, and the sources are listed on each page.
• Prices are quoted with the date we checked them, in the stated currency.
• Each guide shows the date it was last updated.
